18/5-2005 - CONGRATULATIONS TO OMAR RAJAB ARHMED
KASONGO! |
|
Evans Ashira
Oure's former amateur team mate, Omar Rajab
Arhmed Kasongo (1996 Olympics), was Friday
blessed with a baby Girl (Malaika Ann Medina
Rajab)
Pro-Team
Ashira Oure congratulates Rajab and Mrs.
Rajab big time, for the God blessing and
wished them the best of luck in the future!
Omar Arhmed Rajab Kasongo is former African
heavyweight champ, Kings Cup heavyweight
champ, Commonwealth heavyweight champ,
Commonwealth boxing champ, 2 times (FESCAABA)
heavyweight champ and Kenyan champ, in the
period of 8 years, (1990-98) and he fought
from welterweight to heavyweight. Kasongo
went to |
|
Denmark with
Evans Ashira for boxing a trial, for a later
pro contract with then New promoter Anders
Vester.
Kasongo won all his trials as Ashira did,
but received a bad offer that time and he
almost felt like he was supposed to box for
free. So he turned it down and went to
Canada. On the other hand Ashira took the
Deal for two years, but in the end, he
couldn't take it anymore and with help from
his manager Jan Andersen, he went to court
and won the case against Vester. Ashira got
out of the slave contract and came back
strong, with the sight of a IBA world and
WBA international titlefight, against the
Team Palle promoted Fredrik Alvarez, who
then had a 37-3-0 (26) fight record. Ashira
knocked out Alvarez in the 11th and became
new IBA & WBA int. champion. After the
fight, he went to the US and signed with
DKP. (On the other hand, Evans Ashira Oure
wishes to thank his Motivator Soren Thomsen,
for all his time. In training before his
last fight, where he had time to push him,
for the evening conditioning after training
Everyday.) |

Robert Kamya, Kassim Ouma (pictured) and
James Lubwama in West palm beach, Florida.
They have trained together and also have had
some good sparring rounds. Ashira is looking
forward to get back into the ring again and
maybe already in August. He can't wait to

|
9/5-2005 - ASHIRA IN THE FRONT AGAIN! |
|
Ashira Oure had a tough
test in his comeback fight, at Madison
square Garden, New York April 30, when he
faced the previously unbeaten young and
upcoming American, WBA #7, IBF #15 and WBC
#12 Quentin Smith (21-1-0-14) Smith was in
trouble from the very beginning of the fight
and was hurt badly in round seven and nine,
but he managed to hang on. In the amateur
days Smith beat up Jeff lacy two times,
which makes him one of the hottest
prospects in the division. The fight was a
WBA Eliminator and Ashira now has to face
the winner, of the upcoming WBA world
titlefight, between Maselino Masoe and WBA
#1 Felix Sturm. Ashira is in a good
position, to
|
|
get his career back on
track and he simply can't wait, to get a
chance to fight for the world laurels again.
Ashira wishes to thank his team, whom always
has been there for him, through hard times
of training. Manager Jan Andersen, Trainer
Ivor De Lima, co-trainer Johny De Lima .
Plus his training Partner, WBO I/C super
middleweight champion Lolenga Mock.
Ashira has for the moment, joined his long
time childhood friends, IBF junior
middleweight world champion Kassim Ouma and
James Lubwama, at West palm beach Florida.
They train together and beyond that, Ashira
is just taking it easy, before he will
return to Denmark, sometimes late this
month. |

11/4-2005 -
TEAM PALLE
SHOULD STOP USING MY NAME NEGATIVELY IN THEIR NEWS! |
I just visited Team
Palle´s website, and they must be desperate
to sell tickets since they have to pull in
my name again. Claiming Christian Bladt said
he “put me together” in training? WOW !!!,
that is a good one if they want to use it to
sell tickets for the Zam Zam – Bladt fight.
But look, I know both kids, and I spar them
both regularly. They are good kids. But
maybe the press could talk to them
personally and hear what they have to say
about the African Warrior. And lets hear
what Mogens or Bettina says after that. No
doubt both kids are talented and good
fighters, but one thing is Christian putting
me in place, another is him being able to
stand three rounds of REAL sparring with me.
|

|
But the thing is, I'll
let Team Palle sell them tickets using that
kind of garbage press release. I’m right
here, and maybe one day they could give me a
call with a serious offer to fight one of
their own who will put me in my place if
they are lucky. I'd even step up to super
middleweight for some action and make their
dream come true.
The Warrior is still around, and I’m not
going anywhere. Bring on anyone and let
people see for themselves instead of cheap
talk. Better let, let people talk for
themselves: Christian never said what they
claimed he said, and he knows what he is
capable of. That’s the bottom line!
Team Palle have my number, email and all
contacts they need, plus my manager Jan
Andersen’s details too. Phone calls aren’t
that hard to make if they have something for
me…

16/2-2005 - KENYANS WHO MADE A MARK IN BOXING! |
|
Kenya boxing history goes
way down from the days of Owiso Oure and
Opiyo, the two Kenyans who faced Former
Ugandan Dictator Late Idi Amin Dada in the
ring.
In the amateurs they were both Kenyan
Heavyweight Champs, and are the founders of
boxing since the colonial days in Kenya,
where by it was hard to find any black
fighters that made any mark. And Owiso Oure
was the first black heavyweight Champ of
Kenya.
