- MOCK MAKES HIS DREAM FIGHT! |
|
Long-time friend and sparring partner of the African
Warrior Ashira oure, Lolenga Mock, made a short nigh of
Giovanni Alvarez on Friday November 12, hurting his
opponent bad in the first round and finishing him in the
third round with a very hard overhand right on the jaw
which saw Alvarez stretched to the count of Ten.
Mock is now the new WBA International light heavyweight
champ. Pro-Team Ashira Oure congratulates Mock for
opening a new page in his boxing career, as now he
decides to keep it simple every time he comes in the
ring. He will be the judge, referee and the fighter as
many fights that he has been in he only lost on paper.
Pro-team Ashira Oure is proud of its new Champ Lolenga
Mock. |

9/11-2004 - Coming
Up: Stanley A. Ashira Katibi! |
|
Stanley
A. Ashira Katibi, younger brother to Evans Ashira (The African
Warrior), is looking to make a statement in his next outing on
November 30th at Berck-Sur-Mer, France. When he takes on the
reigning WBF world champion at 160 Lb´s Arsen Khachatrian over
8 rounds. Katibi says he coming to fight, and not just to be an
"opponent". He doesn't want to predict anything, but
he is highly motivated and ready to go to war. Since his brother
took over the management of his career he has never been ready
to fight like now. His normal weight class is at 154, but he
wont mind going up to 160 for a good fight. Katibi says he is
just ready to go.

Responds To Team Palle-Comments! |
|
I
respect a big organization like Team Palle, offering me the
opportunity like the one they did against Fredrik Alvarez for
the WBA International and IBA world titles, and just recently
they offered me to fight Mikkel Kessler for his WBC
International and WBC number-one ranking at Super Middleweight.
I respect that, and it was a great opportunity that I don’t
think any boxer in the world wants to turn down. Especially if
they know they have the tools to win the fight, like I
know.
But the bottom line is that the conditions of the fight were bad
as per Don King Productions, and that is it. I don’t need to
go into the details!
|
 |
|
I understand that Team Palle had to issue a statement regarding
the Kessler/Larsen/Siaca situation, but it is crossing the line
to say that I owe DKP money. First I don’t see what that has
to do with the fight, and, secondly, it is disrespectful of them
to say it in the first place when they don’t have their facts
straight. I think they should apologize for that.
If they want to go into behind-the-scenes stuff, they should
also tell the public that I have been with DKP for two and a
half years, and only gotten three out of seven contractually
promised fights, and was never offered the last four fights.
They should tell my minimum for the fights, and if I was ever
compensated for the fights I didn’t get. And they should also
tell the public how much money they were paying me for the
Alvarez-fight, before my manager Jan Andersen told them that it
doesn’t work that way. They either pay or don’t pay!
I don’t have any problems with no one, including Team Palle,
if they want to do business. Then we stick to business, and not
private life. Especially something they don’t know anything
about, and something that isn’t true.
Also, it is me who make the decisions after talking to my
manager/advisor Jan Andersen. My trainer Ivor De Lima has
nothing to do with any decisions. He does his work in the gym,
and I have a lot of respect for him, but I am the one making the
decisions. And just to set the records straight; I would box
Kessler anywhere, anytime if the conditions were right. This is
strictly business, and if the fight is not good business-wise it
is not business at all. And boxing is a business.
Mikkel Kessler is a great fighter. I didn’t have a problem
fighting him if the conditions were right, but I am not
desperate, and my promoter DKP didn’t handle this thing the
way it should have been handled. We were negotiating, and
the negotiations fell through. The fight was never close to
being on!

- ASHIRA HOPING KING WILL GIVE HIM OCTOBER DATE! |
|
Former WBA World middleweight title-challenger Evans
“The African Warrior” Ashira (23-1, 13 KOs) is
hoping that promoter Don King will put him on the Felix
Trinidad – Richardo Mayorga undercard at Madison
Square Garden in New York on October 2nd. “We are
communicating about it, and I hope it will happen. I
need to get back as soon as possible, so this would be
good for me. Otherwise, I will have to seriously
consider my options,” says Ashira, who is very hungry
to return and show that his May 1 loss to Maselino Masoe
was simply a case of having a bad night.

- THE AFRICAN WARRIOR IS BACK! |
|
The African
Warrior has been taking it easy and having some time of
with his family in Kenya at Kakamega Ebutuku Village,
after his bad evening in his last fight against Maselino
Masoe. “The thing is”, the warrior says, “that was
just nothing but a bad evening, which anyone could get
anywhere”. Now Ashira start his training again in
Aarhus, Denmark, with the aim of making it back with a
bang. “So, what I say to my fans is: don’t feel bad,
because I am back to prove it was a bad evening. So lets

"The African Warrior" ASHIRA ON MISSION DESTROY MASOE! |
|
Ashira
Oure left his training place at Aarhus´ Champs Camp heading to
Don King training Camp in Florida to prepare for his fight on
May 1st in the USA for the WBA world middleweight title at a
venue to be announced. This is the long awaited opportunity to
show the boxing world what happens when the African Warrior gets
in the mix, and which will climax Masoe being really hurt badly.
Ashira just hope Masoe will be able to show up for the whooping,
so he can be an example of what is coming. " I am coming
down there with the intention of making a statement in style,
and lets see how many will like what they see, because this will
be like chopping wood! To my Kenyan and Danish Fans: I am not
letting anyone down! There is no option! If there is any, it is
to whoop Masoe really bad" says Ashira Oure.

Evans
"The African Warrior" Ashira (23-0, 13 KOs) tells
Scandinavian Boxingnews today, that his fight against Samoan

PRO-TEAM ASHIRA OURE WISHES QUALIFYING TEAM GOOD LUCK. |
|
The
Kenya team departs to Casablanca, Morocco for the second phase
of Athens Olympic qualifiers which starts on Jan 15th. Due to
lack of funds, six boxers had to be dropped from the national
team fondly referred to as :"Hit Squad" leaving boxing
enthusiasts crestfallen. Only
four boxers will make the trip, coach Albert Matito said. They
depart on Jan 13. They
are captain Absolom "Diblo" Okinyi (welter, Police),
Daniel Shisia (middle, Dallas Railways) and David Munyasia
(bantam, Afaba), deputy skipper George Odindo (heavy, Prisons).
Interestingly, Odindo, Munyasia and Shisia are all products of
the famous Muthurua Dallas boxing ranks, while Okinyi honed his
skills at St Teresa's ABC in Eastleigh. The boxers have been
going through the drill on computer scoring after monitors and
gadgets were installed at the Ruiru's Prisons Staff Training
College (PSTC) camp. Only one Kenyan boxer, Suleiman Bilali, a
brother to Los Angeles Olympics bronze medalist, Ibrahim
"Surf" Bilali, has qualified for the 2004
Olympics. This was after he won a gold medal in Abuja. Those who
stumble in Morocco will have to cool their heels till march 15's
final qualifiers in Botswana. Already 22 boxers including Bilali
have qualified. 18 quotas will be up for grabs in Casablanca
while 20 more to fill the 60 quota allocated to Africa will be
in Botswana.

Mock (The Lumumba Boy) Wins By Knoxkout In Two! |
|
Lolenga
Mock (The Lumumba boy) proved to be at a different level in
Germany Berlin on Thursday (December 18), when he stopped
Slovakian Juraj Ondricka in round two after flouring him a total
of four times in two rounds. The referee called end to the
action which was very one sided.
Mock, trained by Coach Brian Mathiasen of BM Boxing, managed
by Henrik Risum of Risum Boxing, and advised by Ashira Oure of Pro
Team Ashira Oure, said after the fight: “ I am looking to
go to another level as a boxer, and it is no more Journeyman
for me”! Lolenga Mock holds a Kenyan boxing license, and
Ashira Oure thanked the FPBK of Kenya for sending the clearance
in time, and said it is good for Kenyan boxers to have two bodies
to govern Professional boxing in Kenya.
This gives the sport competition, and it is very good for
boxing in the country. All Kenyan boxers are the same and
should be treated with respect, and not used, because they make
the offices that Govern Boxing, And I personally appreciate the
work FPBK has done even though it is only three month old, it is
very good for boxing.. Of course KPBC has done a lot of
commendable work, but it is a high time they step up, be
course of the boxing level, which needs to be raised. This is
not to overlook the good things done by the KPBC, but
just to spice up Professional boxing, which will be good
for boxers in the long run, and I wish both association good
luck in boxing promoting in Kenya. Pro Team Ashira Oure, in
conjunction with Fight Production and Risum Boxing is looking
into the possibility of putting up a card with a World
title fight in Kenya Soon.

vs. Masoe Getting Closer! |
|
The
fight was first scheduled for November in South Africa, but then
got cancelled along with the rest of the planned Don King card.
Now the official WBA middleweight eliminator between
Danish-Kenyan Evans Ashira (23-0, 13 KOs,
WBA # 5) and his New Zealand-based Samoan
colleague Maselino Masoe (25-2, 23 KOs, WBA # 4),
looks destined to take place in early 2004. According to The New
Zealand Herald, Masoe´s manager Mike Edwards wants to stage the
bout in Auckland, New Zealand, but Don King is pressing to
promote it in Las Vegas or Atlantic City in the USA. “We're
negotiating hard with Don King for the fight to be in Auckland,
but its like David and Goliath” says Edwards to the newspaper,
and concludes about his boxer: “He is a good trainer, he is
focused and once the deal is settled we want to get him off work
(Masoe is a welder) and into fulltime preparation with some
decent sparring partners”. According to The NZ Herald,
television deals will determine where the fight is held, and it
should be before March.

something he has never felt before, and that something
