Following my release on June 25 about me not receiving payment from promoter Robert Larsen for my fight against Mamadou Thiam on April 19, Larsen went public saying he didn’t owe me any money, and that he got me a sponsor-car which he claimed I wrecked, and that the car was then withdrawn as a result of that.

This claim by Larsen was totally untrue, but I was instructed by my lawyer and manager to not make any further comments at that time. And it did seem as if things were progressing at the time as Larsen entered into negotiations with my lawyer about payment of the money owed to me. Why would Larsen negotiate if he didn’t owe me anything?

However, Larsen has since continued to fill my lawyer with stories and promises, and I have not received payment yet. Not a dime! It is a sad thing that the Danish Professional Boxing Federation continues to license a guy who doesn’t live up to agreements with boxers on his shows, and it is a sad thing that the DPBF allows this kind of unorganized and crooked conduct to happen.

Let me clarify some things:

The initial agreement was that Larsen would pay me X amount of money for the fight! Shortly before the fight he suddenly found out he didn’t have that money anyway, and he suggested getting me a sponsor car instead. Since I had put a lot of time and effort into training, we didn’t want the fight to get cancelled and therefore agreed to this change, despite the fact that it was a downgrade for me. My manager consequently paid me some money from his own pocket BEFORE the fight!

After a lot of pushing, and waiting a long time, Larsen finally presented me with a car that was somewhat acceptable compared to the money he initially should have paid me, a car leased from a car-dealer he himself claimed to know very well. But approximately one month later, Larsen and his car-dealer-friend from Daugaard Biler in Søborg stole the car back!

On June 18th Larsen came to my gym, pretending to merely be bringing some DVDs for me. At the same time as he was chatting with me in the gym, his friend from the car dealership drove away with the car, taking it from the parking lot without me knowing it. Coincidentally I wanted to go out and set my parking-clock, and Larsen got in a big hurry to leave. When I got out, the car was gone and I of course called the police to report it stolen.

The next day Larsen called me and said the car had been found wrecked! I then called the police to ask why they hadn’t informed me that the car was found, and they told me they had NOT found the car. I called the guy at the dealership, and he admitted that he had taken the car from the parking lot, and that he had done so in cooperation with Larsen at the same time as Larsen was chatting with me in the gym. Rudely he also made it clear that he would not speak to me, because he only deals with Larsen.

The car was never wrecked, and I certainly never wrecked it as Larsen claimed on a boxing website on June 26! This was simply another one of Robert Larsen’s pitiful attempts to bullshit his way out of another broken agreement. (And video surveillance from the parking lot will prove that the car was NOT crashed when Larsen’s friend drove away in it.)  

Once this scam was revealed, Larsen said he would pay me my money after all, but has since come up with one excuse after the other. An important point is: Why would he agree to pay me the money if I wrecked the car?

And I can prove that he agreed to pay me, as I still have the text messages he send me. Like this one from June 25:

“I hate this shit… I got a cut in my driver’s license as I drove too fast… and did not make the bank as it closed at 4. I can only cash 15.000 in the machine. I am working night till tomorrow at 8. I suggest if you have the time, that you meet me tomorrow at Spar Nord on Rådhuspladsen. And I give you 70.000 black…”

For the record, I never asked him to pay me black (untaxed) money, and I would never accept it either! But again I can only ask: why would he text me something like that if he didn’t owe me anything, if I wrecked the car? I have several text messages from him where he agrees to pay me the money, but every time there is another excuse that prevents him from actually giving it to me.

Getting back to the Danish Professional Boxing Federation, after I send out the release I got a call from the president of the federation, Jesper D. Jensen, who told me I should retract the release and he would sort things out with Larsen. Now, that is more like it from the D.P.B.F., right? But guess what, I have been calling Jensen ever since and he still hasn’t done a thing about it. He even told me he would call me back in two days, and that was almost two weeks ago now!!!

Jensen is taking the easy way out, because by doing anything else it will be like admitting that he and the D.P.B.F. didn’t live up to their responsibility in the first place. If he sides with Larsen by doing nothing, it will prevent him from admitting the federation has screwed up.  

Normally I don’t have any particular beef with the D.P.B.F., but when they license a crook like Robert Larsen they have a responsibility in this issue. This is bread off my kids table, and nobody can expect me to walk away while that bread is missing from my kids table and I know who got it! I never even got the belt I won in this fight! Where is the D.P.B.F. when a fighter gets screwed? How can Robert Larsen be allowed to promote professional boxing in Denmark when he doesn’t pay fighters?

Instead of walking around saying that he wants to buy boxers out of contracts, bragging about how his company is going to be bought by a company called EPOKA, and shouting about making joke-fights with self-proclaimed brain-damaged fighters like Riddick Bowe, I suggest he stops being a liar, a crook and a cheater! If EPOKA is buying his company, he must have plenty of money to pay me!

But, at the end of the day this crook can say and do anything he wants, I will get him in court and get my money by all means.

I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID FOR THE FIGHT!!!      

On June 25 IBA junior middleweight champion Evas Ashira Oure issued a release regarding money owed to him by promoter Robert Larsen for a fight against Mamadou Thiam on April 19 of this year.

Following that release things have moved forward, and Ashira Oure´s lawyer, Karsten Houger, is currently negotiating with Larsen to settle the issue so the boxer will get what he is due:

“I want to assure those who have been concerned about this matter that things are now looking okay, and that we expect everything to be settled by next week, if things go as planned.

I want to say a special thanks to my friend and manager Jan Andersen for getting things under control in a good and professional way”, says Ashira. 

The African Warrior will be taking on Howard Eastman for Commonwealth Middleweight Title on 20th April at Dudley Town Hall, Dudley UK. Evans Ashira 28-2-0 (13kos) vs Howard Eastman 45-4-0 (35kos) will be going over 12 rounds. Both fighters are two time World title challengers and this is a good match up that will be exciting with fire works. Ashira knows this is a great opportunity to get himself back to another shot at the Championship of the World. Come April 20th 2007 it will be time to shine for The African Warrior. The fight between Evans Ashira 28-2-0 (13kos) vs Malik Dziara 28-3-0 (20kos),fell through as the fight switched venue from Teplice Czech to Universum Gym at Humburg.  Ashira was offered a fight at Super Middleweight instead against Robert Stieglitz 29-1-0(19ko) which he turned down, as he said he aren't boxing at that weight class no more. He want to get focus on getting his career forward at Middleweight or Junior Middleweight .
Ashira is disappointed about this and can't understand how a good fight like this can fall through. When the opponent has the judges referee, timekeeper, venue plus the public. Ashira would represent himself all alone, still the promoter wants to find a big guy instead. The African Warrior will do the fight if they change their mind at Malik's Living Room.

all over three weight divisions and risk someone may just as well call him for a Light Heavyweight fight. Ashira is ready to face anyone anytime anywhere at Middleweight, and Jnr. Middleweight won't be trouble to make either. Since he is a natural Middleweight, the fight at Super Middleweight against Joe Calzaghe was a chance any serious fighter in the world  won't say no to. Ashira's road back to top 10 will start with his fight April 7th.
His manager/adviser Jan Andersen adds, we are working at Middleweight aiming at the top, going 100% we will find a way one way or another.
         

Ashira Oure and family are good at Copenhagen. The three Oure Jnrs. are doing great and they seem happy with Copenhagen after relocating from West Palm Beach Florida USA.
Ashira has started his training at Fitness DK with Paul Duvil and his old trainer Ivor Delima. His fight date will be announced soon, though for now all he knows is to work hard. As always the African warrior is able to rock it with any top middleweight or jnr. middleweight in the world.

things to get to the top of anything you dream of. For me this was something special, having three 1996 Olympians training together. Nate Jones, Floyd Mayweather and Ashira Oure, had great time everyday in training and worked hard. Nate Jones and Floyd Mayweather represented USA, while Ashira Oure turned out for Kenya in Olympic 1996 Atlanta Georgia. It was nice to see fighters who come up at the same time, Mayweather being the youngest of three . It was a privilege to see one of them getting all the way on the top of boxing world.
Ashira enjoyed to have a chance learning and understanding what makes Floyd be at the top and stay there. Once again Team Ashira Oure congratulates Floyd Mayweather and appreciate great time together at Mayweather training camp for his Nov. 4. 2006 fight.
